2007 Ford Escape Hybrid Vibration and Noise when moving
Hey all! First time on the forum. Already searched the forum for any related threads to my issue.
I’ve got an ‘07 Ford Escape Hybrid that has kind of a “wuh wuh wuh” sound and vibration that increases in volume with speed. When I turn to the right, it’ll get worse, telling me the issue is on the left side. It doesn’t matter whether I’m accelerating, braking, or coasting, the noise is always there.
I assumed it was the wheel bearing, so I replaced the hub and the bearing. I also purchased new rotors and pads since the set on the car were factory and the car is at 159k miles. I’m currently in $600 including parts and tools and I’m not looking to spend more to find out it’s a different component that’s worn.
I know an inner cv joint can cause the problems I’m experiencing but I believe it’s only under acceleration that one would hear the noise; however I DO hear a quiet clicking when rotating the wheels with the car jacked up coming from the inner cv joint.
There’s also another rougher sound I can hear that sounds like it’s coming from the middle of the car when I rotate the wheels.
Could it be the bearing on the intermediate cv shaft?
I took the car around the block and onto the freeway after replacing the bearing and now the sound is slightly different, and after getting off the freeway, is accompanied by a rhythmic knocking sound that also increases with vehicle speed.
What can I do next?
Any ideas on other components I should add to my list of parts to look over?
Below I’ve included a couple audio files with the sound
