2011 Ford Escape intermittent loss of power steering

Twice now we have had loss of power steering . If we turn off engine and restart it returns to normal. First time checked for fluid but found it is electric assist. Any ideas what's happening?

If you want to know what is happening you need to have the vehicle checked with a scan tool.

Since this is safety related, you're best bet is to have a qualified technician take a look at it.
