I bought a basic S model with the only optional equipment being Sync. The look of the car made me consider it and a test drive sold me. I love the car but I have a couple of nits.

It's a solid car but parts come off too easily. While I was taking deliver a bezel at the front bottom edge of the armrest came off. A day later I lifted the hood and my fingers gently move across the bottom of the front and a rubber bumper came off in my hand. I later lightly bumped the bezel around the gearshift lever and it popped out. Little things. The only problem that has been an irritation is the Sync. The software was written my Microsoft. Need I say more? It has good days and bad days on Bluetooth connection to my iPhone 5. It'll be good for two or three days and then wake up on a different planet and I have to pair the phone again. My iPhone 5 paired and was solid with my previous car. Overall, I love my 2013 Escape and am happy that I bought it.

Have you tried to go on the sink my ride site and see if there are any new updates to down load yourself, all you need is memory stick and it should go in the escape for updates. This helped me.

syncmyride.com seems to be down at this moment for me to double-check but I was on the system two days ago looking for updates and found none. Now, I know that the software that drives the driver's side display needs an update but not seeing that either makes me think its a dealer update only. I've read in this forum that the individual panels for trip and time and mileage can be combined as a four-panel display with the update. When syncmyride.com is up again I'll report the software version for Sync to make sure it compares with those of you who know their Sync is updated.
