Catalytic Converter Thefts
Catalytic converter thefts are on the rise here in Minnesota. I am wondering if Ford Escapes are one of the vehicles targeted? Is there a list some where of the vehicles most targeted for catalytic converter theft?

Yes any vehicle with a Cat. I'm in the S.F. Bay Area, Alameda the small island a nice city born and raised.
Last fall the 2004 Escape V6 Cat was stolen, they didn't hit the 2010 Escape V6 parked behind the 04.
Very few Cat manufactures allowed in Kalifornia, one made in Chyna (I pass) with MagnaFlow Cat as replacement.
The stainless heat shield in two halves top and bottom with a flange where they meet in the center.
I welded on two 1"x1" angle iron, back to back onto this flanged lip full length.
Top angle the flat facing out stamped 3/8" letters/numbers "2004 FORD ESCAPE" lower angle flat facing out "license plate letters and numbers" this on both sides of the Cat.
Welded onto at the pipe stubs 3/16" x 1" wide rolled flat stock rings with four single 3/8" chain links every 90 degrees front and rear along with 3/8" stainless cable double looped both ends of Cat to drilled holes in the body "frame" structure.
Split in 1/2 end ends of Cat with 3/4" wide x 3/8" thick flat stock every 90 degrees with lend links and ID angle iron along with stainless cable loops applied to the 2010 Escape.
Nice old houses and neighborhood, the block od 53 houses has had five Cats stolen, stolen vehicles, vehicle breal-ins.
Ya don't rob a getto, cross the estuary to the island then steal and rob. The police do nothing inluding patrolling neighborhoods. ......~~=o&o>.......
