Default Escape EGR Problems

I have a 2001 Ford Escape v6 3.0 XLS and I am wanting to sell it but the Enginelight is on, I took it to AutoZone and they said it was the EGR valve, So Ireplaced the EGR valve and the EGR pressure feedback censor. I reset the lightand it came back on. I don't know what else it could be, the car runs like adream but that light just won't go off. Some times at a red light the RPM'swill kind of jump a little bit, like the car is wanting to move with my foot onthe brake. Any help you can give me would be great Thank you. The Trouble code is P1409

There is a possible problem with the electrical control of the vacuum regulator solenoid to control the amount of EGR. It will require some special equipment (Good scan tool) to run the tests and verify it the signal to the solenoid is present. Could get involved.
