how are the coil packs labled?

how are the coil packs labled?

I have a 2002 Ford Escape and was told that Coil Pack A and D are misfiring...how are these labeled? How do I know which is A, B, C, D...etc. The guys at the garage told me they didn't know..yeah right!!!

If you have the 6 cylnder motor they are on plug coils. Check your library for a repair manuel to get the firing order, with that you will have the location as they are numbered with the cylender. Hope this helps.

Hi, the letters matches a number. So, A=1, B=2 and so on. So you have a misfire on cylinders 1 and 4. If I remember right, it is both cylinders closest to themain serpentine belt on each head.
