I have '02 Escape. V6. XLT. FWD. I noticed some drops under front of vehicle. Oil, perhaps, beads up on some device that looks like a waffle iron under the vehicle. Can somebody please give me some suggestions as to the nature of the problem? It is a slow drip, about 3-5 drops every 48 hrs. The vehicle has 175K miles.

 

Since no one has answered your post so far, suppose we try this?
Place some white paper under the vehicle where the leak is contacting the floor and let us know what color the leaking fluid seems to be.
Some fluids have different colors and the result you post may help narrow down where the leak might be originating.
