Default Vibration with Continental Tires

Well I have owned my 2006 Ford Escape Since June 1 2005, I now have 13,000 miles and I have developed a vibration at 50-55mph. The tires have been balanced and rotated and I continue to experience the vibration. The Continental ContriTrac Tires that came on the vehicle are not smooth across the tread surface, from the outside edge towards theinside edge the tread goes from High to low on the next, then High and low again on the inside. This is the same on all four tires. I do not see or feel any cupping yet but I can just start to hear the sound associated with this type of wear. Any feedback on Escape with vibration or Continental Tires would be helpful.

I have a 2005 that had the same issue. [:@]I said had becuase I ditched those Continentals in favor of a tire that would have civilized road manners and allow me to enjoy the vehicle to the fullest! I purchased Kumho Venture HT tires from Tire Rack for a reasonable price so that took some of the sting out of replacing tires with only 23,000 miles on them. Let me suggest that you do the same as those tires will only get louder as the miles go by. Continental tires are FAMOUS for being very loud.

I have an '05 with 26,000 miles on it. The tires started to crack around the rim. I took it to the dealer and they said that the Continentals were junk. I had the tires replaced with Pathfinder tires. All I had to pay was $100. That was for a new warrenty, lifetime balence, etc. The tires were no charge.

I would take your truck to a warrenty authorized dealer (mine was Discount Tire) and see if you can get different tires put on. Ditch the Continentals.

I have the same tires on my 03, at 64 000 km, they still have lots of tread and good traction, if you do any off road driving you will like these tires, if you drive city or highway only, get ride of the tires, hell get ride of the truck and get a car...
