Want to buy a 05 Escape. What's the good bad and ugly for this generation?

Want to buy a 05 Escape. What's the good bad and ugly for this generation?
I've been told that I should stay away from four cylinders with tow packages due to the four cylinders not being tough enough.
Things to look for or suggestion welcome please!

That is right, a 4 cyl engine Escape could tow a small trailer with a riding mower in it, a 6 Cyl escape can tow about a new 24 foot travel trailer, and if looking to tow something bigger, look for a 8 cyl vehicle
