Default 1998 Escort Manual Transmission whining

Hello, I have a 1998 Escort with a whining manual transmission or transaxle. Does a manual transmission have gear oil or what? How do I change the fluid? I have heard of syncromeshhelping cars shift better, but I am new to Fords and need help. Thanksfor your help.

Hello and good day:

When you say"WHINING"...can you describe this a little more in detail?...and Yes and Manual Transmission has a High Viscosity Oil type which is normally in a close type seal, and rarely needs replacing...

Have you noticed any Leaks????
