1999 Escort with intermittent hard start
I have a 1999 Ford Escort wagon with an automatic transmission. It has an intermittent hard starting issue. Usually first thing in the morning I have to try to start it at least twice before it will start, after it starts up it idles a little rough and if I don't give it a little gas it often stalls. After the first start of the day it will often start up right away as long as I don't leave it for too long before trying to start it again. This issue seems to get a bit better on cold, damp days.
So far we have changed spark plugs and leads as well as usingsome injectorcleaner.
Any idea what this might be?

I would check the Idle Air Control motor. If that isn't working right it woun't idle up when cold, therefore it doesn't want to start. My 95 escort does the same thing, but when it is idleing rough and at around 500 rpm's I can give it gas and it will run fine.
