Hello I am new here but I have owned 3 escort GT's with 5 speed transaxles.Here's my question..I just drained and refilled my neighbors transaxle fluid on his 1999 escort se 2.0L.I used Mercon fluid and refilled with 4 quarts.I am getting a high level reading on the dipstick..alldata online suggests 5.7 quarts goes in.I got the specs from an Haynes manual at auto zone and they said put in 4.1 quarts..what gives here?.Does anyone have the correct auto transaxle fluid refill spec for this car?..thanks.
