Up date on problem. I pulled the fuel pump. When hooked directly to the battery it runs fine. When I try to power it using the wiring harness it does nothing. There are two black wires and two black with white wires in the harness that goes to the cover that hold the fuel pump onto the gas tank. I tried appling power to these, even all four wires and nothing. On top of the cover are three small black round objects. The black wires run into one and the two black and white wires run into another. There is a wire that goes between each of the black objects. On the inside of the cover there is a single wire from each round black object to the fuel pump. When I applied the 12 volts here, the pump runs. When I apply it to the wires on the outside of the cover, nothing. Can anybody please help?

I knew this at one time, but each wire provides power at a different time. One with key on only for 5 seconds, one while in sart position, and another while engine is running. If the pump is good, which obviously it is, then I would start with the fuses, then the relay. I would also check to see if the fuel pump shut off switch has kicked out. If none of these work, or you have tried all of these let me know, I will check my ford cd manuals and find out whick wire does waht and try to help a little more.
