I own a 1994 escort LX wagon. Recently i noticed that when i start the engineit idles fine up until it gets to the normal mark on the temp gauge. after that i would thick white smoke pouring out the exhaust. im thinking it is a head problem. i looked at the oil which is fine... any ideas on where to start looking?

 

Yessss!!! you may have a Bad Gasket...causing something to get Exhaust Ports....White smoke is your first sign.
