Default 95 Ford Escort 1.9

I am new to this forum so any assistance would be greatful. My 95 Escort has recently had an annoying problem. Every time i open the car door (with out the keys being in the ignition) the inside of the car chimes. Like a door chime. I've checked the fuse box, but all are good. Its more of an annoying problem than anything. I do not have any car alarms or anything like that. Anyone have any suggestion.s Thank you

it may be that the switch in the ignition that signals to you that the keys are in is stuck,...

I have the same thing on my 95 Escort that I just purchased.

Thanks for the information all. I'm going to check that out!

This is my first Escort and other than it's little quirks, I really like the car. I purchased it for my son who is a new driver.
