While driving on a flatand straight surface I hear a thumping sound after hitting a small bump.
I do not feel the thumping on the steering wheel. The noise will go away momentarily if I move the steering wheel. The thumping noise has the same speed no matter how fast I am going.
The noise appears to be coming from the front passenger side.

Any ideas?

 

A bad McPherson strut will thump when going over bumps.Kind of puzzling about the steering wheel correction though.Check for loose wheel-well or lower shroud plastic pieces also.
