99 Escort ZX2 Serpentine belt
My daughter's escort died yesterday, shredded its serp belt. I'm in the middle of replacing it, but I can't seem to get the belt over the tensioner pulley. I'm using a serp belt tool (i.e. long handled wrench). From the top of the engine, I'm pulling the wrench towards the front of the car. I think I'm getting all I can out of the wrench but I still can't get it over the *&%* pulley. Does anyone know any trick to get it on the pulley?
I'm assuming that I'm using the correct belt, (Duralast 855K6 from Autozone). I'm gonna try and figure out if that is, in fact the correct belt.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: 99 Escort ZX2 Serpentine belt
Problem solved. The thing that made this hard was that it broke down about 80 miles from home. I had the correct routing, a serp belt tool, pry bars, etc. Try as I might, I could not get the belt onto the last pulley. I tried several different pulleys as the last pulley.
I ended up having it towed ($65) [:@] to a local garage. They put it up on a lift and finished the job for me ($20). It seems that the trick was to release the tension on the tensioner pulley from underneath instead of from above as I was trying.
