Default ac stopped cooling

Hay everbody. 1999 escort sw ac stopped cooling on 2 different days then saturday stopped completely. Fuse is good, but no power to compressor,no visable problem with comp.r-134 is ok as far as I can tell without unit running.Can not find wiring diagram or ac gauge pressures. THANKS FOR THE REPLIES. PS I live in HOT Houston TX.

Welcome to the site..

Check for voltage 'through' the A/C cycling/low pressure switch.. If the charge state is low,, either the comp will cycle rapidly, or not at all.. Check the high pressure cutoff switch as well after the cycling/low pressure connector.. Also possibly the WOT relay..

Thanks for the reply. My chilton book does not give me much info on the a/c system. I think Ihave located the 2 switches, one on the line and one on the dryer. If this is correct what are the readings I am looking for? Thanks again.
