Default Engine Swap Will not Idle

I recently purchased two 1995 escorts. Both have 39,000 miles. Car A was left without a hood for the past 8 years, and car B was wrecked beyond repair (Hard Hit T-Bone). I drove car B around the yard, had a great sounding engine, started right up after 8 yrs no problems. Car A's engine had the weather take a toll on it, engine had water in it, several locked pulleys, etc. So I decided to take engine B and place in car A. Did the swap, now I can't get it to idle. It will start briefly on its own or will run with starting fluid, and if I rev 2-3000 rpms for about 30 seconds it will idle fine on its own. Let it sit for 30 minutes, and I have to start all over. I put the fuel pump from car B (same fuel pump engine originally had) because the fuel pump in car A did not work. I also replaced the timing belt and the water pump and the fuel filter while I had the engine out. Like I said, once I get it started, and rev it for a bit, it will idle fine, runs great on acceleration etc.. When it first starts it sounds like it is starving for fuel. i am thinking maybe a weak fuel pump, but it ran fine in the other car. I have checked the fuel rail, and have pressure (no gauge). I have checked for any wiring I may have missed hooking up, only thing I found was MAP sensor, and I put one in. I have tried to give a detailed explanation of what I have done, and I know car A and B get confusing, but it was the easiest way I could figure out how explain. If anyone has any idea what I have missed, or what is wrong, please let me know I will try anything at this point. Thanks for everyones help in advance

Okay here is the fix....When a car has been sitting 8 years, and you know the gas is old, and you ask someone else to put 5 gallons of gas in it to dilute the old gas, they say they do, then 2 days later you find out they didn't even put 1 gallon in it, you STILL have BAD Gas in the tank...And this escort WONT run on it. So good gas runs good bad gas runs bad. Hey I dont mind telling on myself, it could have happened to anyone. Feel free to tell me how ignorant I was, I won't get mad, we can laugh together..LOL Thanks to all who viewed this and tried to help.
