Default Escort Wagon 1.9 liter No compression #2 Cylinder

My repairman says I have no compression on the #2 cylinder. What could be some of the causes of this?? The obvious would a piston or head problem.

Default No compression......

Found the problem. #2 valve seat came out and damaged cylinder head very badly. Eventually a small piece of the valve seat got stuck under a valve preventing compression in the cylinder. It seems this a very common problem with these motors and there is a very simple way to prevent the valve seats from coming loose from the cylinder head. Anyone interested in the fix can email me at finley247@centurytel.net. Also I found very small cracks between the intake and exhaust valves. I pulled 3 heads at a junk yard before finding a good head without these cracks. The head cost me about $60.00.
