I have a 97 Escort LX. The recommended tire size is 185\65R14, a friend is giving me a set of tires off her Cavalier that are 195\70R14. Taking the width and aspect ratio into consideration, the Cavalier tires are a full 2" taller than what I have.

Here is the question, finally. Will these tires fit without rubbing?

 

Looking at my 95 escort it looks like the larger tires would rub on the strut where the spring seats.

 

those tires are too large;certainly will rub the strut
