Default Park Lights stay on

Ok. I have 99 escort, and my park lights stay on whenever i take the keys out of the igintion. I can take out a fuse and It will fix the problem. But the fuse that i have to take out is the one that goes to my brake lights. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what to do.

Thanks

Sounds like a shorted out light switch , I know the old ones had a puny18 gauge wire that was the power feed, It would get so hot at the terminal that it would melt the connecters,,, One other thing to check do you happen to have a tow hitch mouted on the rear ??? I have seen trailer wiring cause lots of problems, do you have any AUX. lites mouted on the Car?
