My intake valve seat came out and damaged piston and gouged head. Can a new seat be installed, or should I source out a rebiult head. 1.9 sohc 100,000 miles

Head problems seem to be common on these older Escorts. Take the head to a good machine shop & let them look it over. They will be able to tell you if it is repairable, or if it needs to be replaced. There are a lot of cheap, rebuilt heads out there. I would rather have one that a good machine shop has gone through, than a cheap rebuild.
