2002 Excursion Limited liftgate won't lock.
I understand the actuators are prone to failure. I purchased a new actuator but need some guidance as to how to get it replaced. 
Can someone give me the procedure how to access this backdoor actuator. Thanks.

Replacing lift-gate actuators
You can buy them on Amazon.
they sorta snap on hard.
But easy to replace. Just have a second person hold lift gate up while you replace them.
i have done mine twice!
You Tube has a nice video showing how to do it yourself. I always buy OEM or ford motor craft first. If parts no longer made then buy third party.
Its a easy fix! Kinda fun to do. Just requires muscle and few tools.
