01 Excursion with the 7.3 base model. Sound shuts off on factory radio whenever truck is put in gear. Radio stays on but no sound. Kinda thinking the BCM but wondering if anyone has seen anything like this before.

Haven't seen this one yet, but would check all ground and hot side connections. The owner's manual may help if you can determine which fuse supplies the radio. It just might direct you to the circuit involved. Sure would like to know the answer to this one, thanks.

 

Diagnostic tool isn't the end all to be all. And I have a tool. Thanks. I talked to a friend of mine who is a Ford Tech he gave me a couple of routes to go. Going to try it out when I get my shop caught up again.
