Default 01 Expedition blend door

Hey everyone!! I am new to this forum but have learned a lot from everyone already.

My question is about the blend door for the heat/ac. Is there an easy way to open/close the blend door without having to remove the dash? We only use the heater about 2 or 3 months out of the year but the front is stuck in the heat position and is now very hot!

Thanks for any information. Also, if there is not a simple fix, does anyone have directions for removing the dash??

Thanks.

These were invaluable when I did my '01 last Fall. It is not necessary to remove the radio in the '01 Expedition. Save the trouble.

Take your time and organize everything that comes off (bag and label all fasteners). This is doable although intimidating. Saved $1000 when my heater core failed by doing the work myself. I am not a mechanic.

If you do have a blend door problem , "heater treater" is a simple fix and is a permanent one. Better than the original , worth checking.
