2014 Expedition limited the A.C. just quits running
Hello all,
the ac just completely quits running, no blower no cool air.
The control panel displays the settings that I have it set on.
Then it will just start working gets really cold even at 95'.
First symptom was three years ago when I would get in to go and it would not run though the display says it was.
No problem until today.
Thank you for help!

2014 Expedition XLT with automatic climate control, heated & cooled front seats, rear heat & cool. Rear A/C working fine. Cooled seats working also. Front ventilation fan will not come on. When I am driving, cool air comes out of the front vents due to the motion of the vehicle, so the A/C compressor is working, just no front fan. Checked all the fuses and relays, even replaced several to see if there was a bad relay. This happened about 6-7 months ago after a long trip when the ventilation was operated for most of 6-7 days. Same thing this time. Used truck most of last 6-7 days with everything working fine, then two days ago, the front ventilation fan would not come on, even though the dash controls/LED shows the fan speed up or down. Rear fan works from front and rear controls. I am having the same problem as Gpinkard.
Anyone have any ideas for fixing this??? Is the ventilation fan motor going bad?

I found a video on Youtube describing this problem at
. turns out this is a fairly common problem for F-150 and Expeditions. Most likely issue is a burned terminal and connector on the fan speed resistor. I checked the resistor connector on my truck, and sure enough, the pin and connector were both burned causing an open circuit. the repair requires a new resistor and a new connector. it also may mean the fan motor needs to be replaced because it is drawing more current than normal. Full replacement of the blower motor, resistor, and connector will cost close to $200. Replacement of just the resistor and connector is about $85 to $100, depending on where you buy the parts. Hope this is helpful.
