97 expedition XLT, turned selector switch located on dash to engage 4wd. Nothing happened. no lights on the dash indicating that it was shifting to a4wd or anything higher. Almost as if there is no power coming to the switch. checked the 30amp fuse under hood. still good. any suggestions to remedy this problem?

 

Have you checked to determine if the vehicle actually isn't going onto 4WD ? Are we sure the light itself isn't defective?
It's not that difficult to get behind that switch and see if you have power coming to the switch itself. That's the only way to be sure , then you can go from there.
