Default Code Help

I have a 98 Ford Expedition, 2WD, 4.6L engine. The check engine light came on. I have a code reader and I checked the code. It was P0401, Exhause Gas Recirculation low flow detected. That seemed pretty simple enough so I bought and installed a new EGR. That job wasn't too difficult. I did a complete tune up and took it to the local California Smog Check station and it passed smog. The old EGR was very dirty and did not operate when I puffed a little air into the valve. Later that same day and about 200 miles later the check engine light came back on and the code was the same.

Although the urgency to pass smog is now gone for the next two years, I would still like to get the code reset and the problem fixed. Any thoughts?

Default RE: Code Help

DPFE.. (Differential Pressure Feedback EGR) sensors are a fairly common failure.. #4... Check the manifold tubes for restriction and hose/scondition as well during a replacement... Pictured in the lower left...
