I have a 2008 expedition with the 5.4L. I think it may bite the dust in the next 20k miles or so just because of wear and tear and the upgrades I have on it. I am toying around with the idea of an engine swap and thinking another ford motor from a similar year would be good. Maybe a 4.6 or 5.0 supercharged out of a mustang. Does anybody know if those engines are compatible in the expedition? what would I have to do to keep the computers working well? Should I try to use the same transmission or go with a trans matching the mustang motor? Could I get it to keep the same transfer case or would I have to do away with the 4x4? I love the idea of a sleeper expedition that can still function as a normal vehicle. If anybody has any answers or suggestions on other setups I would love to hear it!
