Default Faded Side Molding

Has anyone gotten rid of the faded look of the gray lower door side molding on the '03 Expedition? If so, how did you do it?

If it is still under the 3yr/36 month bumper to bumper warranty you can have the dealer replace it for free as it is considered a manufacturer's defect. Ford has sinced replaced their manufacturer of side moldings so the replacements will not fade. I did this for my 2003 expy without a problem, however ford is hesitant to let you aware of this as the cost is over $600 per truck for them.

I had my 03 expo's side molding painted back to org. color. The paint had some kind of plastic additive to bond to the plastic. This so the paint won't pill off.
