The power steering pump is whining. I was told it will eventually need to be replaced so I'm just wondering what a typical cost for this is.

A lot depends on where you live, where you take it to be replaced, aftermarket or OEM pump, and,,,,,,,,,,, if there might be something additional that might need to be replaced like hoses etc. If you shop around in your local area you will be better able to get a more accurate estimate.
