Radio & Navigation freezing up
I have 2018 Expedition and the radio & navigation unit has been freezing up. I have been unable to use the radio or navigation when this happens. Restarting the car doesn't help. After sitting overnite it begins working again. I have checked the software update and it says they are current. Has anyone else had this issue and got it resolved?
Thanks
Thanks
I too have a 2018 Expedition (Limited) and have experienced the same problem (maybe 4 times total in 1 year of ownership). When it happens, nothing on the screen or with the radio's physical controls functions. In my case, however, the problem corrected after the next engine start. I have noticed, though, that the boot process for the screen takes an especially long time to complete on that next start. Makes me think it's a software glitch.
Had the car into the dealer recently for a variety of quirks, including this one. Nothing specific done to address other than to confirm all software up to latest version. Too soon to tell if the problem has been resolved, since it's been so rare.
I've also had a problem where the nav screen has been stuck on "Loading Map" for a good 20 minutes. Trick to resolve was to click to a different screen and then back to nav and it was back to normal.
