Default REAR END WHINE

I have a 2004 EB Expedition. Just bought it, it has a whine in the rear end between 50 and 60 mph. I have been told this is common in the Expedition. Any one heard of this? Any ideas on getting rid of this short of replacing pinion gear? Any help will be appreciated.

The rear end will need a rebuild along with new clutchpacks. The Dealer can do this job correctly, but it will cost you.

Yes, this is true, but I talked to a head ford mech. and he said that it will need to be rebuilt. He also told me that if I don't it will end up being a single rear wheel drive like the old style trucks. It's not a threat issue as fare as safty goes, but it shur is nice to have both wheels getten power to the ground.
