Default Starter Solenoid

I have a 2000 Exposition and the starter solenoid would click occasionally. I replaced the starter solenoid and still have the same problem. The starter solenoid clicks occasionally. Can anybody please help?

The first thing that should be checked is the battery connections for being clean and tight. Also a good idea to confirm all the ground connections are also clean and tight.
There is a starter relay in the vehicle's "Central Junction Box" ( Fuse panel under the dash, driver's side). When the key is turned to the start position it energizes the relay in the CJB which now sends a power signal through the (formally neutral safety switch) on down to the starter solenoid. When the solenoid activates it sends power to the starter motor. Any one of these places could have a poor connection that would prevent the starter motor from operating . If all those connections /components are OK The starter itself is suspect. Sometimes when this happens where it just clicks and won't start we give the starter a light rap with a hammer and if this now allows it to start ,the starter is usually the problem.
Again, most of the time the problem you are seeing usually is the result of poor connections.

I will double check battery connections. We cleaned battery connections and ground connections when we replaced the starter solenoid, I will double check them. Thank you and I will try your other recommendations.
