2000 E.B. Front End Vibration
My 2000 Eddie Bauer 4 door 2 wheel drive V-6 4.0 SOHC automatic has a bad vibration that seems to be coming from the front drivers side tire area. I have replaced the tires with front end alignment, also the rotors and pads, and there was no real change. The bearings looked good so I did not replace them. The noise is a consistent thumping anytime it is moving there is noise and it gets louder the faster I go. It also seems to grind when I am braking and slowing down, which is why I thought it might be a warped rotor. It also causes some vibration, I can actually see the steering wheel and passengers side seat move a little side to side. The ball joints were replaced several years ago. I am wondering if it might be a tie rod and if there is an easy way to determine if that is the case. I would appreciate any suggestions, I really like my car but this noise is making me bonkers.
Thanks,
Randy
