Default 2001 Taurus with front end vibration

I have an 01 Taurus with 45,000 on it. For about a year now the front end has a vibration that you can feel when you hit a dip in the road or accelerate hard. It tends to be worse with more people in the car. A mechanic told me it could be the torque converter? Does anyone else have an opionion on this?

Thanks.

I finally got the front end vibration solved and it was the driver side axle. The old one had a crack in it and had been throwing alot of grease under the car. Thanks guys for all the help.
