Default 2000 explorer stereo

took out oem radio. putting in new sony. got wiring harness wired it all up, pulled out oem it has 2 plugs, 16 pin, and another one with only one grey black wire going to it, anyone know what this wire is for. plugged in 16 pin and stereo works put doesnt have any volume and sounds tinny.. help !!!!

i'd check you have a factory amp hidden behind a panel. most likely in the rear cargo section, or under/behind the glove box. you'll need to purchase another wire harness to by-pass the factory amp which will allow the head unit (sony) to power the speakers.
