2002 Explorer front end makes a roaring sound
I have a 2002 Explorer that makes a roaring sound on the front driver side near the tire. It is especially noticeable when slowing down from freeway speed (at 70mph it really isn't there, but at 65 and slower it's really bad) and if making a left turn in a curve in the road. I thought at first it may be the tires, but it is only in the front left. Could this be the brakes sticking or the bearings? It has been doing it for about 8000 miles. No smoke or smell is noticed. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help. You were right, it was the bearing. Thought it was gonna cost $60 but after the mechanic got into, said he had to replace the whole assembly and couldn't do just the bearings, so price went up to $350. Knew I should have fixed it myself! Whatcha gonna do?
