Default 4x4 switch problem

Hi guys. I got a question on my 4x4 switch on my 91 explorer xlt. when i got the explorer the tranny was not working but when i hit my 4x4 switch it would light up and i would here it clicking in the transfer case so i asume it was working even though my tranny wasnt. well i put a junk yard tranny in it now i got my tranny working fine but the 4x4 switch wont light up and when i hit it i hear no clicking from the transfer case anymore. the only thing other the the tranny change was a radio install while it was broke down i thought maybe when splicing into the wiring for the new radio may have messed somthing up with the 4x4 switch ,but im not sure if any of the wires i was messing with when changing the radiowould have had anything to do with this but ive checked all fuses under the dash by the steering colum and all those seem good. anyone got any ideas how or what i may have done to foul up my switch. any info or advise would be greatly appreciated....
