My 1996 EB Explorer AWD 5.0 needs a new Tranfer Case according to Ford. They say I need a Borg Warner 4404 Viscous Drive That came in AWD Explorers between 96 and 98 and also 98 Mountaineers. My quesetion is can I convert mine tothe electronic shift 4X4 that was more commonly used in explorers 95-99. They came with the Borg Warner 4405. Will it bolt up the same and match up to everything? I just want to increase my odds of finding one at the local U-pull it.
