I want to installan OEM overhead console in my 97 Explorer Sport. It does not have one now. Anyone out there accomplished this before? In particular, are the screw attach points there, regardless of it not coming with one when new? To attach the console, do you have to cut the headliner out, or just line up the holes in the bracket that comes with the overhead console and use a scribe to punch through and fine the attacment holes? I am aware i will most likely have to slit the headliner in the area under where console will mount (as this will be hidden after install), to run electical wires, etc. Are there wires there already?
