Default 97 XLT: Replace window motor or drive pins?

My wife's 97 XLTs driver side front window has a really hard time rolling down, but seems to roll up fine. I have seen on E-bay that you can buy new drive pins for the window motors and it will supposedly fix the problem. Has anyone done this and how well did it work? The drive pins are only about $10 including shipping for two motors, so I am not worried about the money. I would just rather not spend the time to do all the work and not have it fix the problem.

Thanks,
Randy
