99 explorer front bumper adjustment
I have a 99 eddie bauer v6 and my front drivers side tire is rubbing against the inside of the front bumper. I need to push out the drivers side of the bumper about a quarter of an inch. I have looked underneath and it looks like there are only two bolts holding on the bumper but i would have to use spacers to push out the bumper with the way the bolts are situated. I may be wrong about this and i can't seem to find any information about how to adjust the bumper. Is there another way to adjust the bumper without spacers? I would hate to pay someone to do such a seemingly easy task. Please HELP!
Im not sure about how to adjust the bumper or aything, but i was wondering was this explorer in a accident is why the tire rubs or are you just trying to put on overly big rims and tires?
This explorer has likely been wrecked. I doubt that this is the problem though. The tires are a little oversized but the bumper is just not aligned right. The passenger side sticks out further than the drivers side. The passenger side of the bumper clears just fine and i have looked at other explorers and the bumpers seem like they were sticking further out the front than what my drivers side was doing. Like i said, the passengers side is fine. If i could get the drivers side like it then my problem would be fixed.
I will take a look at my 91 explorer this afternoon i know we have different years and all but it may give us some clue as to rather it looks to be a adjustable type deal or not I wil let you know here in a few hours or so.
