99 explorer sport blower motor not blowing

Default 99 explorer sport blower motor not blowing

i have a99 explorer sport 4.0 about 3 weeks ago we heard a noise in the dash i found where a rodent made a nest in the squirel cage areai cleared all the debri out and all worked fine. now the blower motor is not blowing,i checked the the fan cage again and found debri again but only around the blend door motor, the squirl cage turned fine when i rotated with a screwdriver and the door is open and closing ok, i checked th 40 amp fuse under hood and 7.5 amp fuse side dash ok, dont know how to check the relay,motor,or dash switch the rear blower is working fine

Could be the blower motor resistor opened up, has a thermalfuse on it that blows when it gets too hot.

thanks bretm, where is the blower motor resistor,what doea it look like and can it be temp jumped to check motor function?/ sam

Just jump power and ground to your blower motor. Does not matter which wire you use for power or ground they will both make the motor turn if it is okay. The resistor is usually in the heater box close to the blower motor.
