All out of ideas need HELP!!!!
So i had a significant amount of water in my gas after a fill up at a local gas station. id say about 6gal of water in 12-13 gal of gas ended up driving on it for 10 min before i started losing power. I ended up driving it another 45 min back to my house. I have looked everywhere searched i don't know how many sites and came up with the same few things to replace. Fuel pump (replaced) fuel filter (replaced) Fuel Injectors (replaced) Coil pack (replaced) Spark Plugs (replaced) Oil and oil filter (replaced) Ive ran premium gas with octane booster and engine cleaner as well in it and it is still not idling and or running correctly. Its my moms truck and she passed away from cancer last year so I'm not trying to sell it. I'm all out of ideas any answers for me? (It's a 2009 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0 6cyl 4wd) Namaste and thank you for your time and energy.
Welcome to the site..
The station where you purchased the polluted fuel would have had a liability to correct the problem.
Was the system purged of 'all' the water before the new components were installed?
Can you expand on 'not running correctly' meaning misfire on specific cylinders, hesitation/lag, any CEL now?

Thank you this is my first time using a site like this so i appreciate the wecome. I did call the corporate number and they did do an investigation (or so they said). it was about a week before i heard back from anyone however the day after i filed my claim they shutdown all the pumps and replaced them within the next 24 hrs. Once i heard back they said they couldn't find anything in the gas and i didn't have a case it was really irritating because i hadn't ever had this type of issue with this vehicle, until i got gas there...however that's off track lol forgive my rambling. Ok so i did make sure to clear the lines before installing anything and as for the not running correctly, it wont idle normally i have to have my foot on the gas and keep it around 2300-2500rpm and if i take my foot off the gas it sputters like it wants to keep going and then it cuts off. Im not an expert or anything close to the nature however it does sound to me like it is misfiring because when i first had the codes read it was saying misfire in cylinder 2. Then i replaced everything and i guess having the battery disconnected for so long it cleared the code it was throwing because it hasn't thrown anymore as of yet. I once again greatly appreciate the time and energy you have spent thus far in trying to help me.
Computerized vehicles have some off the wall problems, they seem to remember the right AND wrong things.
If the computer recorded the wrong idle instructions it needs to have a chance to relearn the new settings.
If you remove the negative battery cable , then the positive cable and hold the two disconnected cable ends together contacting one another, that allows the old possibly incorrect idle settings to go away. Then reconnect the positive to the battery then the negative,
Now when you start the vehicle DO NOT touch the accelerator pedal , just allow the computer to reset the idle speed and condition. This could take a few minutes. Let us know if this gets rid of the incorrect idle problem. The correct idle speed is permanently built into the computer and it needs to adapt that into it's learned memory.
