Better MPG on a 04 with 4.0 any help!
With 41k on it i would suggest getting the fuel injectors cleaned. Start there and see if you notice a difference. To get the full benefits of the K&N you bought, look into a high-flow exhaust system. Personally i would save my money on the exhaust though because its gonna be around $300+, and you can buy alot of gas for that price. Did you buy just the K&N filter or the entire Kit?New plugs, wires, etc. also may help improve the mileage.
i have a 97 ford explorer and i am getting about 19 mpg city and about 20 to 22 mpg highway. i have not done anything to the motor. all it takes is good driving habbits. like when you are goin up a hill dont hit it to the floor to gut up the hill faster just try to keep it under 2000 rpm. when you are taking off from a complete stop try to keep the rpms under 2000 rpms. that is how i get better gas milage.
