Default Changed tire size

Hi everyone. I am new to FordForum. Over the weekend, I got larger wheels and tires on my '05 Explorer. I went from the stock wheels/tires up to 22" wheels/tires. When driving, I feel like I am going a lot faster that what my speedometer says. I was looking around online and saw that changing tire size will affect the accuracy of your speedometer. Does anybody know by how much it affects the speedometer? Can I fix this somehow so it is accurate with my new tires? Any help/info/suggestions would be welcome!

Thanks!

Default RE: Changed tire size

Don't worry too much. If the rims are bigger and the tires (rubber parts) are smaller it likely equals out to about the same. Unless you got bigger rimsAND huge off-road tires or something you usually don't need to worry. If you think it's really off - a tire specialist (retailer) should be able to tell you by how much by/from the size of the new tire as compared to the size of the old ones (stock size)(provided they know anything).
