Default Climate control problems, HELP!!!

I have a 98 explorer XLT, i lost my climate control the other day, and is constantly stuck on hot windshield defrost. The only things that work are the off position (the other vents will not function) and the fan speeds. the temp control will not work either. what is busted, and what do i need to replace or test?

Maybe you can find a climate control unit at a salvage yard, maybe they'll let you try it before you buy it, just be ready plug and play. If it fixes the problem your good to go, if not time to take it in.

IF YOU ONLY HAVE DEFROST, THEN YOU COULD HAVE LOST VAC SUPPLY. ALSO THE **** ON TEMP CONTROL SWITCH COULD BE STRIPPED OUT. THE FIRST THING YOU NEED TO DO IS PULL OFF THE ****, AND SEE IF YOU CAN GET THE TEMP TO CHANGE BY MOVING THE SHAFT BY HAND. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK YOU PROBABLY HAVE A BAD TEMP BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR. IF YOU NEED MORE HELP, JUST REPLY.
