my 99 explorer says in the dash that door is ajar...all doors are shut tight none areopen but dash light is on and domes stay on. neither of them will turn off.....any sugestions?

 

The door ajar switch is stuck in the on position. Does the door chime come on when you take the key out? If not, then it is not the driver's door. Put some penetrate into the latch assembly that hits the door striker. That is where the switch is located. There is also one at the tailgate, so be sure to lube it also. If you know someone that has a monitor to do diag work with, it will tell you with door switch is stuck, if you know how to monitor the pids.
